I live about 40 minutes away from it. The only county in PA that has nothing but trees, one red light, and no mcdonolds. A guy I know works there Chad Wilcox. Haven't been there yet its a new museum.

Great place with a once-a-year fly-in on the Saturday of the Lock Haven Sentimental Journey Piper fly-in.

The Eagles Mere Air Museum is a collection of 20+ "Golden Age" airplanes, most of them flyable. Additionally, they have a large collection of early engines on display as well significant collections of early aviation memorbilia, and a pretty cool collection of early aviation related toys and games. Normally, when the museum is open, several aircraft from the collection are flown.
The museum is located in the in Sullivan County, PA about 15 miles east of Williamsport. (My personal opinion is that the lack of red lights and McDonalds' is a good thing
" They have been open Sunday afternoons from late June through early October, with plans to expand the operating hours. Admission is free. There are nice accomodations nearby in Eagles Mere, PA.
The collection is located in four large hangars on Merrit Field, a private strip with a 3400' paved runway and a 2900' grass strip. Don't let the sectional chart fool you...look on Google or Wiki Maps for a slightly dated but pretty accurate view of the airport. The airport is private, I'd suggest contacting the owner using the contact info on the web site for more info.
The owner hosts an annual fly in, usually on the Saturday of the Sentimental Journey fly in at Lock Haven, PA. (Last year 53 airplanes flew in, even though the event was delayed a week by weather.)
On good weather Sunday afternoons during "the season," one can usually find me up there giving tours or flying something.....
