Just read an article on this ambitious restoration to fly project of a very early Phantom in California. The yhave made excellent progress and the paint scheme chosen is stunning!

If it is aloowed to fly. I can see the FAA and USAF not letting that happen these days.

Would it be the one at the Wings and Rotors Museum? http://www.wingsandrotors.org/F4-2.html

One of my classmates that has already gotten her A & P was working on it,
and last I heard was they were working on wing spar issues.
This group plans to make it airworthy,
but only a celebration flight is planned afterwards. I got no details on the reason why.

Yes that is the one.. No pictures of the vertical tail paint scheme on there yet though!
