Anyone going to the homecoming show? I have to see Fat Albert perform the JATO takeoff one more time.

I'll be there, my first visit to Pensacola since 1983!

As an aside, some WIXers know my "Uncle Mike" from airshows, he was at Pensacola when the Blues moved from Jax in the '50s. He was an engine mech on SNJs (also blimps, which also used the R-1340, that wasn't at Pensacola however). He saw the Blues with Panthers, Cougars, and the short-lived Cutlass solos.

The first time I saw them was as a child. They were flying Tigers.
Oh yes, I'll be there; for the volunteer appreciation day in the
skipper's chalet! Counting the days!!!!!!!!!!

That will be the last show for JATO?

I may have to free myself up for that.

Right now I'm planning on heading down for the shows. I think it is worth the drive to see that "last of the JATO". I'd be surprised if the the Air Force Sky Birds ever do a JATO Demo again. Man, I loved watching those at Schenectady, one year we had 2 JATO demos in 1 day which was very cool.
