Veteran & Vintage aircraft by Leslie Hunt...

Does anyone have one of those these days? I seem to remember reading in one at a friends house years ago and found a mention of a twin (Harpoon???) which was preserved in a city in Mozambique, Africa. Think it was perched in a city square or something similar. Since I was toying around with Google Earth I was wondering which city it was in. It is always cool to search the earth looking for intersting aircraft hulks (Very rarely do treasures like that from the past still remain)

My copy states that there is one Harpoon 4610 of Portuguese AF on a pole at Manga Airport.
There is a second Harpoon listed as 4604 on the dump at Lourenco Marques Airport. It also mentions a JU-52 a Lockheed 14H2 CR-AAZ c/n 1511 and a Lockheed 18 CR-ACT.

I've got a few editions of that book and looking quickly the only thing I see in Africa close to what you describe is:

"Vickers Viking ZS-DKH mounted on roof of Vics Viking Garage on the Salisbury-Vanderbijl Rd, 8 miles from Johannesburg."
