It is really starting to look fantastic Brad! I spent 67 trips and 121 hours in that back seat.
I am glad she is getting the attention she deserves.
I always wanted to see those wings recovered with fabric, that was prior to CWH having the aircraft I'm pretty sure. I only ever remember seeing it with metal skins.
I agree with your hope for paint schemes. Maybe the one with 115, that would keep some nostagia of her old markings.

Keep the pictures coming.

Dunno about this Corsair having been used in the Black Sheep TV series, which incidentally only ran two seasons, I don't think this one was in the TV series.......but the one now with CWH up in Canada formerly owned by Kohs was, I believe, a Black Sheep TV vet, so maybe that's where the mix up is coming from....having seen the Kohs Corsair when it arrived at OSH '03 with 10 hours on the airframe since restoration and flown there by John Lane, I know how good this one's gonna look....he does magnificent work.

Edited because I was rude for no cause.
As of a week ago, no paint scheme had been picked out. I'm still holding out for the first one I posted. With the 115 on her.

Hmmm...interesting...cuz here's what I show...via the 2nd edition of the warbirds directory...

Corsairs used in Black Sheep Squadron:

F4U-1A 17799 N83782 Planes of Fame
F4U-4B 97359 N97359 Tom Friedkin
F4U-7 133714 N33714 John Schaufhausen
FG-1D 92106 N6897 David Tallichet
FG-1D 92132 N3466G David Tallichet
FG-1D 92529 N62290 John Stokes
FG-1D 92433 N3440 I.N. Burchinall

Bob Guilford's Corsair, an F4U-7, participated in a half day's filming.

Cross referencing with John and Donna Campbell's excellent Motorbooks publication 'F4U Corsair' and the 2nd edition directory, it shows the CWH's Corsair registered as C-GCWX and its Bu number as 92346, three digits off I.N. Burchinall's bird that later burned in a fire in Texas. The CWH bird at that time as far as I can tell did NOT participate in filming.

The former Kohs Corsair IS however listed above, at the time it was Tallichet's 92106.

Brad, all props and respect man, but I disagree...I have NEVER seen a Corsair in Black Sheep Squadron carrying Canadian registration (although I confess it could easily be painted over) as most of the birds in the show had their BuNo's under the tail feathers....however, I must also point out...and if you disagree with this you're arguing with Paul Coggan here, not me....apparently the CWH took delivery Oct 15 1973 from The Air Museum....about 3 to 4 years before Black Sheep even rolled a camera.

Mark,

I edited my posts because I was flat rude and had no call to be. It was posted after a long day at the airshow with too many memories. I apologize for being rude. My mama would be quite embarrassed about my behavior!

Let me restate what I said earlier with out being an jerk about it.

Somewhere I have a letter from the POF that says the airplane was indeed used. The current owner has been told the same thing by people that have been associated with the airplane in the past. If I can ever find the letter I'll post it for all to see. Was the airplane in the show? I don't actually know, but former owners of it seem to think so. That is what we have been going off of.

By the way, I'm pretty sure there were at least two other owners of this Corsair between the POF and CWH owning it. I've got the paperwork stashed away somewhere. The directory doesn't mention anything about that. If I can find all that stuff I'll post it.
