I'd hate to let this great thread fade away, so heres my little contribution. For scale, the small oval Avro plates are 2 inches wide.

Just found these and thought I give this thread some new life.
these are 3 of the 4 dataplates used on Fouga's. Finnish, German and French (Potez also had another style later on)

Folks,
I have all of Gary's old data plates. I've been selling them for him and am proud to say I was able to sent him quite a bit of money. This past week he emailed me telling me to stop and to keep the rest of them has a thank you. If someone would like to purchase any of the reminder drop me a email. I'll dontate the $$ to the humane society or young eagles in his memory. A few of them I plan on sending to a couple folks who really are hurting over his loss but the others are up for grabs.

the only ones I have are NEW blank ones for boeing airctaft all were destined fro B-52's but since they are new blanks I guess you could get creative!! :lol:

Here's my collection. Pretty much like Hawkeye's really. The used Orenda plate is off an Orenda 10 and I'm guessing the Victory Aircraft one came off a Lanc.

This is one I'm looking for. If you find one like this (this is the one on CHAA's Yale) that has the serial number 64-3033 instead of 64-2160, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
It was stolen out of my plane in the seventies. (along with the instrument panel and a few other things)

Thats funny that we have basically the same plates. although I'm still seraching for the 3rd Orenda plate to round out my collection.

Thanks. I'm thinking about putting that on my Fouga cockpit when I'm done with the restoration. I almost left the aviation scene due to too many *ssholes and ego's ruining it for me. Thanks to guys like Gary I didn't quit completely and kept my collection. Seeing gary's posts with the stratolina, F-105/101,... trying to save every aircraft bit he came across... Reminded me why I started with aviation.

I'm new here, and don't own any data plates yet, but I took a picture of one a few days before I joined here.

This is from B-52G 59-2584 and it's not so easy to read, as you can tell. 584 is located at Paine field in Everett, WA., and owned by the Museum of Flight restoration center. I guess most of the B-52 data plates look like this because of the efforts to keep the planes half-way presentable. The scraped off areas were done by the volunteers at the restoration center. I'm pretty sure I would not have approached the problem in that manner.
