I remember when Tarheel Hal flew in. He called me on the phone and stuck it out the window. "Do you know what that is? A P-47!" That was awesome.

Here are some pics from our weekend painting the nose art on Ol 927.

Referencing my earlier post in this thread - two things:
First, I thought that whatever it was that caused the rift - I thought that Mr. Brown's post on his blog was very considerate and gives a different perspective that is valuable and actually makes me respect the CAF.
Second, the "tramp stamp" term made the CAF website!!! LOL

By the way, my flight today with Red Wing took me over Midland - the skies were very blue...

I just wanted to post a few of Gary working on the Thud with me on June 19, 2009.

These pictures still make me laugh. We were both pissed when we first go to the airport since we spent the first few minutes pulling beer cans out of the intakes of the Thud. I guess the construction workers found it funny to stuff empty beer cans into the Thud or they didn't know where the trash can was. So here was Gary paying them back!! :)

That's my favorite Gary picture. I love that goofy expression on his face! I'm sure he was sitting there making "Rat-a-tat-a-tat" machine gun noises. . . :D

That's how I'm going to remember him.

Cheers,
