Hi folks,
my name is Mario and I live in Oranienburg, Germany. I am member of the Association Airmen's Ordeals Oranienburg. In August last year these remains of the "Wolf Hound" were recovered during a further cleaning of the area of the former Oranienburg airfield. Have a look at my item for the 303rd BG Association at
http://www.303rdbg.com/pp-wulfehound.html. Here are some further pics of the recovered parts.
bomb craters were filled with all these parts of the "Wolf Hound"
NACELLE NO. 1 / Lower L.H. / A.C. 41-24585
other site of the cover show the paint sheme doubtless - upper site was dark gray over olive drab and lower site was black over bright yellow over light gray, note the white line painted at the cowling by the germans and was seen clearly at various pictures of the DL+XC
Access Door No.1 Outboard Nacelle
the lower nose section with the mounting spares for the bomb sight
I had made many more pics of the wreckage parts. Some parts we were able to safe before the large amount of the parts were removed by scrap hunters. We have both parts with the AC serial, one oxygene tank, the lower nose section, some parts of the cockpit, any access panels a.s.o The parts wich were handed over to the Sachsenhausen Memorial are also save.
Sorry folks, I wish I would have more save, but I only have a Mitsubishi Carisma and it was filled with parts to the ceiling.
