Ran across this and thought I'd share it wit ya'll as I had neve heard of it :oops:

Tiny Tim" aerial rocket are loaded onto a U.S. Marine Corps North American PBJ Mitchell bomber of Marine bombing squadron VMB-612 on Iwo Jima, 2 August 1945.
Based on a concept for an air-launched anti-shipping missile developed by the California Institute of Technology, the "Tiny Tim" weighted 580 kg (1,280 lb) and traveled at a velocity of 1,480 km/h (810 ft/sec). It entered service in 1945.
