Hi Dan,
I was at Watsonville this past weekend, and there was a beautiful 1934 Kinner Sporster that had been recently restored, with only five hours on it. I'm sure it will be at Merced. Also at Watsonville was the Miss Veedol Bellanca replica, that may be headed that way. The anticipation of seeing Bud Field's new Curtiss Robin with an OX-5 didn't happen due to a holdup on his prop, maybe Merced.
I've run into a lot of antiquers and EAA members that are very upset with EAA Golden West scheduling their event on the same weekend. Most of them have told me that they will not attend Golden West at Marysville. My current plans are to attend Merced on Friday (arrival day) and then probably ride up to Marysville Friday night, for their Saturday event. If the opportunity heads towards some air to air stuff at Merced, I may not attend Golden West.
Merced has also added air shows to both their Saturday and Sunday shows.

Okay, here are a couple from Merced. I used my budget Digital (free from a friend) so I could load these quickly, as compared to the time I'd spend scanning my prints. Those will be on the NorCal AAHS website later.

P.S.
Orvis, didn't find you at Marysville, did you make it?

Nope. Sorry about that. Dan was sick after a long trip and it was decided to scrub. Heading out on the 18th in the T-28 though, any destination ideas?

Columbia Airport has an annual Fathers Day Fly-in, if you go on the 19th instead?

Hi Scott,
Yes, I quite often refer people to this picture for a size comparison. Also had two F/A-18F's at the Golden West event.

Orvis,
While updating our chapter website, I noticed that the The 39th annual Father's Day Fly-In at Columbia is both days, so you may want to fly there on Saturday?

I'll be at the Vertical Challenge Helicopter show at San Carlos Airport that day:
