Does anyone have any good pictures of USS Franklin F6F Hellcats that would be enough to base a model on? I've got an F6F model and since my uncle was onboard that ship, I'd really like to do it up in that ship's markings.

Ryan, I've been working on a Franklin project myself. Are you looking at '44 or 45? Here is the one pic I have found that has the tail shown in 44 as only plane # on fuselage and tail, supposedly in July of 45 an LL tailcode was implemented.

Well Mark aka Hellcat's dad flew F6Fs in VF-13 on the Frankin Oct 1944. Shame he's not here to answer the Q :idea:
