This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Just saw a news flash on Fox that an experimental aircraft went down just off airport in Athens, Ga this morning. No real details, but pics showed something painted up dark green gloss with Japanese markings. I could not tell from the pics if it was a warbird, or just a paint alike experimental... Had big lettering on the tail, but not able to tell what it was...
Anyone have any details?

Isn't David Garber one of the VAC Honches?

Looks like he went pretty well straight in- Wonder if he had a bum engine and stalled while trying to deal with it. Then again, perhaps the trees flipped it nose down when he reached them.
PURELY SPECULATION! Just taking a WAG based on the pics...
Is it anyone we know?

His Fuji was advertised for sale last year in our CAF newsletter. Talking to a few of our members they thought it was based at Athens.
I can't tell from the film coverage what the N # is...

Looks like it was owned by a David Garber, killed in crash and passenger was Scott Strong, both of Lady Lake FL.

Probably N2121J, according to the FAA database.
