This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

First time trying to post pictures...hope it works.
So this was a visit to the green hangar at the south end of Oakland Airport in August of 1983. I was just curious of the disposition of some of the planes here. Obviously, the PBY is the Golden Gate CAF Squadron "Sea Bitch"...which was an Austin Acres resident until recently. John Crocker's "Sumthin' Else" is there as well, which is now Crazy Horse2. "Fertile Myrtle" is with Kermit Weeks. I think the Lloyd Hamilton On-Mark Invader 'racer' (in the background of the TBM pic) is being restored.
Where is Mike Bogue's Tigercat now?
Who's P-40?
What P-51 (which I THINK had a cavalier tall-tail on it)?
T-6?
It's been a few years, but inside the hangar I seem to recall seeing half a dozen Mustang fuselages and wings stacked against the wall. Who's were they, and where did they go?

B-29 is now Kermet Week's at Stockton I think.
P-51s are Crockers race plane and Bob Loves white one.
TBM came from the Sacrameto auction and ownered by Boque and Crocker, think its in the museum at Oakland. John and I pulled the tank out of it.
No idea as to the P-40 and T-6 and I keep my SNJ there and was there alot.
Don't remember a PBY being there either.

No, Bob's plane was over at Livermoore...as we went to see it and Jack Hovey's plane later that same day.
This one was stripped down to bare metal.

Nice pics! If you use the IMG code, bottom one, it should directly link the image IN your post. just highlight and copy that address and the pic should show up in your post, one address per line so it stacks them up.

I don't think that is that same P-40.
I'd say it was Tom Camp's or one of the Paul's P-40's.
Paint looks like it was left over from the film "1941".

Didn't look like quite the right model, just the only one I saw that had that serial marking on the registry. 1941 , hmmm have not seen that movie in a "few" years!

Right I moved from Boque's Hangar 5 and Boque moved to the building you see in pix 2.
Bob talked me into moving my SNJ to Livermore after he moved there and I did in 1982, the mind is a terrable thing to waste.
The F7F was Boque's and Falanders', don't know who has it today. I think Falanders sold it, but to who?

The P-40 is an interesting one, certainly an 'E'. The distinctive camera (?) fairing under the right wing should make it easier to identify. Could be the Bill Anderson one.
The last I heard, the Tigercat was being stripped for parts at Ione, but I think it has moved on from there now.

The P-40 is probably the one owned for several years by a guy named Woodson -- painted for the "Tora Tora" movie, and flown briefly afterwards. It sat for several years in the weeds in Livermore before finally being sold for restoration. I think it may have become one called "Holdin my own"...
