T-6 cause if you're out of trainers you're out of fighter trainers.

1. Spitfire, nothing else has the looks and the goods.
2. P-39, sleek and distinctive, a favorite with pilots.
3. Fw 190A, everything you need in the most efficient little package.
4. P-38, America's best fighter of the war, looks and sounds terrific.
5. Ki-84, produced under duress, but as good as anything in the Pacific.
6. Macchi Mc-202, the Ferrari of WWII fighters, troublesome but sexy.
7. Me 262, shark-like and years ahead of everything, even the other jets.
8. Mosquito, unmatched versatility and style too.
9. B-29, almost as advanced as the Me 262.
10. Yak-3, could mix it with fighters two generations more advanced.

T-41 Only type to penetrate Russian airspace and land in Red Square despite aggressive attempts to find it. Also a derivative crashed into the White House on another "trans curtain" demonstration of its abilities. Built in quantities greater than the Me-109 and still in production, in use with 16 Air Forces.. What more could you need? See also "Cheapest Warbird" and "Should we wear helmets when flying the T-41? blog on cfi.com"

As a contrary view to the rather common warbirds listed above....
(my Bill Gates big hangar top 10)

Image

USS Macon w/Sparrowhawks (for friends) The biggest and the best.

Ryan YO-51 what could be cooler than a polished American Storch for fishing trips?

B-58 Hustler A completely useless and dangerous toy that is the height of fiscal irresponsibility when taking a young woman to dinner in Seattle. Also demonstrates a comple disregard for safety and mechanical viability in even the best of conditions. Perfect.

Martin Baker MB-5 Just to hear the Mustang and Spitfire drivers ask...what is it again? And then,... just how fast did you say?

I'Ae. 30 Nancu - Looks divine, and not wood. Perhaps the prettiest twin made. Look it up!

F-4e Phantom The best mean looking aircraft ever made.

Curtiss P-6e looks incredible, a needed Conquerer powered airplane for the stable, and something fast to take to Stearman fly ins...

Martin Mars from an engineering and design standpoint an ultimate aircraft, still in use as well. Without compare.

Republic XP-72 seems like it would be fun to take to Reno while the MB-5 is in the shop. If thats not available I could get an AM-1...

oh. and an

F-105G Thunderchief

Why not. But I would settle for just the first one. The hangar is still available.

Wow.., already 60 different warbirds!

Spitfire V (supposedly best flyer of the marque, otherwise a Spiteful)
Tempest V (just to hear a Napier Sabre run)
P-47M (the ultimate combat Thunderbolt?)
F8F (this should be obvious)
P-39 (such a classic late 1930s look)
A-26 (best attack/bomber ever built)
P-40B/C (just a classic shape- even looks good without a shark's mouth)
Stearman (anyone who has flown one on a warm evening knows why)
T-6 (pilotmaker)
P-51D (there is a reason these are popular, no?)

4. Spitfire - The most beautiful fighter of all time!

5. B-24 - First aircraft by Grandfather dealt with in the Middle East.

6. B-17 - Yankee Lady holds a special place in my heart!

7. B-26 - Another workhorse of the 9th AF - I hope to see one fly someday!

8. P-47 - See above 9AF trend. Someone's got to do the dirty work!

9. F-4 - Phantoms Phorever!!!!!!!

10. F-86 - If the P-51 is the Cadillac, the Sabre must be the Lincoln????
