50th Birthday Flight

Wed Oct 21, 2009 9:45 am

My brother Chris turned 50 in August. He's one of the pilots on Hawk One (the Golden Hawk Sabre). And he was flying it at the Windsor airshow this year. So, giving himself a birthday present, after his task at the show he flew up the St. Clair and met up with my Dad flyiing the Stampe.

The two of them buzzed the Island where we grew up (family cottage), Sabre back near the stall, the Gipsy Major screaming in the Stampe.

Then Chris went on to Sarnia airport for a few approaches, then back.

The photo isn't great, the wind was howling that day and it was rough as heck in the biplane, but it's a memento.

Cool birthday....

Cool Indeed! Didn't think a Stampe could fly fast enough to keep a Sabre from falling out of the sky!! Looks like a fun day for all!! Happy Birthday!!
