I went to visit a friend at a paint shop down in Ontario CA today and he told me to look in a building around the corner, and i found this Focke-wulf Fw-190,everyone was out to lunch so i snapped a quick picture. Anyone know anything about it,whose it is? or where it came from?
It looked like it was pretty close to being airworthy

Good question! For about the last year or so, I've heard rumors of a "secret" 190 at Chino that no one knows about and hasn't been made public. Is this the same aircraft?

Calling BDK.......... :D

Could this possibly be Paul Allen's? Anybody know if that aircraft is still in England or not? It should be close to flying by now.

That doesn't mean it couldn't have been flown or trucked to Ontario, does it? :D

Yes, it is the secret Chino FW-190 which was never in Chino, and no it does not belong to Paul Allen. I bet if you searched the WIX archive hard enough you could figure it out.

So you know, but you're not going to tell us who's it is? That's not very nice! :)

Is it a Flug Werk?

I've been sworn to secrecy, but the truth is out there...

I'm not trying to be mean, it's just that I am occasionally allowed access to things under the proviso that I don't blab. Don't blame me, blame the owners who want to protect their privacy on these matters for whatever reasons. It's their money that allows us to live vicariously through them and lets us see their toys. Give them some space and maybe they won't be reluctant to show them off when they are finished.

Yes, it is a Flugwerk example and when it taxis down the ramp at Chino it's open season for photos.

No problem, bdk, I was just giving you a hard time! I understand completely!

A few questions:

1) Has it flown yet?

2) Will it be based at Chino?

3) Will it be present for the POF 2010 airshow?

Thanks for the info! :D

I haven't seen a FW190 in formation with a B-17, but at Oldtimer Hahnweide in September they had Christophe Jacquard's FW190 plus a Messerchmitt Bf109 (Red 7) attacking a B-17 (Pink Lady).
