Scorpions at Casper Wyoming 1959

Here are some photos my dad took when we were stationed at Casper Air Base, Wyoming in 1959.

Montanna ANG Northrop F-89 Scorpions on the field at Casper, Wyoming.

In the front row according to the tail numbers are Scorpions F-89H-1-NO SN 54-0280, and F-89H-5-NO SN 54-0393.

In the front row according to the tail number is Scorpion F-89H-1-NO SN 54-0277.

Very nice, it would be awesome to see one of those fly. Any F-89 projects out there ?

I've always thought that the F-89 was one of the ugliest airplanes I've ever seen. Kind of the AMC Pacer of the vintage jet set. Nice photos, though.

I will do a close check of the slides for #53-2453.

That is some nice work the team from Heritage Flight Museum is doing this week on the F-89J restoration project in Helena, MT.

We arrived at KBLI last night with a U-haul load of small parts and the tip tanks on a trailer. The semi's hauling the wings and fuselage should get in today or tomorrow...
