P-47 Cowling Band colors?

Does anyone know if any P-47 groups in Europe or the PTO carried a turquoise blue band on the nose on a NMF aircraft? If so, what group? Thanks!

I guess what I'm really looking for is a group with the small 56th FG style band in the blueish turquoise color.

The 354th seems like it would be close, but they painted the entire cowling, and that is not what I am looking for.

Aha! I finally found this one. What group is this and does anyone else have any pics of this group?

Or this one? It doesn't look terribly accurate, but I'm sure it is somewhat based in truth...

Two different fighter groups/squadrons represented above.

The first Jug pictured is an example from the 19th FS/318th FG

The second scheme (with the completely blue rudder and vertical) would be from the 413th FG.

The caption in PRMays' post says 507FG and I agree w DanK to be 19FS 318FG. The 318FG included the 19FS, 73FS, and 333FS they had "N"s at IEShima. Since my dad was an armoror in the 73FS I have collected a few P-47N model kits and purchased whatever aftermarket decals sheets that have aircraft from this group. When they were on Saipan w Razerback "D"s each squadron had seperate markings. The 19fs were OD with NMF cowlings with blue cowling, fuselage, vertical and horizontal bands and a letter for individual aircraft ID. The 73FS was OD upper gray under and white cowling, fuselage and tail bands w a number for a/c id. The 333Fs w yellow bands. Question, when they had the Ns on IEShima for the most part all the squadrons had the same yellow tails, both vert and horiz w black diagional bands. The 19th w blue cowling band and cowl flaps, the 73rd no cowl band and the 333rd w yellow cowl bands. Then for some reason a few 73rd a/c have the black wide band across the top of the vert and a few 19th w the large blue band on the top of the vert as in the a/c in the photo in the above post. Any idea why most of the aircraft had the same tail markings no matter which squadron they were in? Hugh

Anyone have any more pics from this FS on Ie Shima?

As for the Okinawa bird, the pics I found only have the blue tail, not a blue cowling. Any other pics of this FS?

73 FS painted the nose black,the 19 FS was blue and 333 FS yellow with black out line.
All part of the 318 FG.
Forgot to add that these nose markings were after the 318 FG painted the tail with yellow & black stripes.

Django, I don't know for sure if the three pics you just linked are all 19th FS birds.

Of the three pics I linked in my previous post, two of them are identified as 19th FS birds in the caption (but are the captions accurate?). The remaining Jug--"Bottoms Up"-- bears the 19th FS emblem (rooster circled by stars) below the windscreen.

Looks like it could be the same. I wonder if somebody has a better picture of this P-38 from Ie Shima? This came out of the stuff my Granddaddy brought home. I've never been able to identify this P-38.

I was looking through the book For The Boys last night and found 3 pics of 19FS birds in color. That was quite a surprise.

that 3rd one that I post, Jake Sent Me, looks like it could be the yellow with the black band, but it's hard to say. Anna Belle is probably the black nose.
