Just a shameless plug-

For those in/around the Tulsa area, the Tulsa Air and Space Museum will have several local warbirds flying to the museum Saturday morning (tomorrow). They are scheduled to fly in around 10:30, when they will do some high-speed passes before landing. They will be on display all day, and will do some more display flying around 3 or so. They will also be on display and flying a bit on Sunday afternoon. Aircraft scheduled to attend include a P-51, B-25, three T-6s, a Stearman and an N3N. Might be a couple more, but no definites other than those listed. Come on out, take some photos, support the museum and have a good morning with us! I'll be there in the middle of it all. Come and find me if you're there.

I love Tulsa and have lots of friends in the area.
always looking for a good reason to run Route 66 up there.
Just ran Hallett in my Miata, a couple weeks ago. :fun:

Holedigger-

As a personal witness to the high speed passes made by the N3N, let me say that the 90+ mph speeds were utterly terrifying. Put the P-51's passes to shame. :)

And Hemiman- in your photo of the BT-13, if you look on the left of the photo, way, way in the background, I'm the guy in the jeans and navy blue coat talking to the photographer. I was one of the guys trying to nicely suggest that folks stay off of the taxiway. I hope that we were all nice and helpful and not jerks. The crowd seemed to have lots of fun and was well behaved. It was a beautiful day for flying. I even snuck a ride in the BT-13 at the end of the day! Thanks to some of the CAF Spirit of Tulsa squadron folks for marshalling aircraft for us!

Is that terrifying from the ground or from the cockpit? :shock: Not called the Yellow Peril for Nuttin!!! Guess being on the ground would be like that scene from North by North-West! Hit the DECK!!!!!!

Remember seeing you. Beautiful day for sure, and the crowd did seem to be enjoying themselves. I talked to the father of the BT-13 owner briefly, about a wooden prop I have that supposedly came of a -13.
I'm going to try and get back out there tomorrow to watch the a/c depart.

Saw a short piece about this on Fox News earlier this evening. We would have been there if Tulsa was about 400 miles closer to Bloomington, IL.

Yeah, all it takes is over double the HP and a constant speed prop! :wink:
