Old Rhinebeck - Any pilots/maintainers out there?

Sat Oct 03, 2009 2:47 pm

I hope to find some people from Old Rhinebeck who could help me filling in some questions about the 6 cylinder Anzani engine. One of their planes should be operating this engine although I have no idea which plane is involved. Overhere in the Netherlands a buddy of mine works on creating a Pietenpol Air Camper and has a 6 cylinder Anazani engine (0 hours) which he wants to use for this plane. We would be gratefull if someone could generate some user experiences. The engine we have overhere is one of the early models and should generate between 50-60 HP. A later model of this engine should have a inlet valve for creating more HP.

We're also interested to hear about possible cooling problems which may appear as the lubrication does not reach the top of the cylinders? Manually greasing?
What kind of fuel is used? A mixture of oil and gas?

Cheers, André

Hello Andre', until someone comes along here you might post a query here....

Using the search feature for Anzani you'll find some folks with a similar project in Colorado who can probably
answer your questions. The most recent entry referred to the oil pump drive and firing workings.

Interesting note..what looks to be a single-row, 6 cylinder, is actually a double-row twin-3, 6 cylinder. Good luck!
