T-33 to F-80?

Fri Oct 02, 2009 11:53 am

I really like the F-80 and wish there was one flying. I am somehow drawn to single seat types. (If I owned a D model Mustang I wouldn't put in a second seat!) It seems to me that it would be fairly simple to convert a T-33 to an F-80. Is anyone contemplating it? Are there any F-80s under restoration to fly?

from Michel C-GNCJ web-site http://www.passion-aviation.qc.ca/planes_fame09. is this P-80 http://www.passion-aviation.qc.ca/image ... 9/p80a.jpg POF's web-site says it's static, but it sre looks good. i would think it could fly with some "hinton" work.

I vaguely recall an 80's issue of AC where this was done to produce a static "P-80".

I'd love to see one fly as well, in natural metal.....next to a natural metal P-47.

Maybe the P-80 will be the next POF jet to be restored after their P-59?
