A question?

I know in the past we have had the "Gathering of Mustangs" etc. If you could choose a gathering of an aircraft type, what would you choose and where would you choose to have this gathering?

Gathering of B-36's.

Sorry...I just had to be the first one to say it.

It's been tried before, with varying success. Corsairs, P-40s, P-47s, etc, it's hard to get more than a handful together. I'd suggest that the P-51 is the only type surviving in sufficient numbers and with sufficient 'headline appeal' to base a viable airshow around.

P-40s or P-38s at chino

???

I think that one is pretty much covered already, Jack! Even rarer than a B-36........

You're right after all if you've got the best the h*ll with the rest!!

I know it's been done already, but I didn't get to go, so. . .

My choice would be a gathering of B-17s! :D

Cheers,

B17s

Thunder Over Michigan proposed it and I have dreams about it.
If TOM can't do it, it would make sense to have it in Texas since three of the planes would have the shortest haul and we all want lower our carbon footprints.

That being said, they should def. do a fly-over the Stratolina just to annoy the boy from Austin Acres!

 :ouch: :butthead:

F-4 phantom, I can guarantee you that all of the civilian flyers would be there !

There are a good number of B-25s flying with more up and coming any day now. Call it the Catch 22 reunion!

You know I have been doing the air show stuff since 1983 and between the pond museum and the Mustang round Ups and the WOTN air shows It really does not mater what happens except to keep alive the history for the generations to come so they know how we keep freedom alive thru the geneations. The world is a different place when we grew up and I'm scared of what the future brings but we need to teach the young ones this so history can move on.

Gathering of Axis

Mostly I'd like to see all the flyable Tora birds back in one place.

Either way the best place for a show is Geneseo. Thats where all the real birds come play. 8)

I would say Sunderlands, but the formation would be somewhat sparse. I'll settle for Catalinas.

It will be 75 years in 2010 for the DC-3. I would like to see a dozen or more in one place preferably Hondo. We were just talking about that yesterday. Does anybody think they would come (with plane or to look)? We counted at least ten in the Texas area that are flyers.
