Aluminum Overcast visits Lunken

Sat Sep 19, 2009 9:21 am

Highlight of my week at least! Here're some pictures from the first full day (I plan on stopping back in later today for a second round)

Cincinnati Warbirds Squadron 18 also brought some of their aircraft, namely Navions N1947U and N4045K, as well as T-28B N194RR

The two Navions later went up to make some passes

I also managed to spot a quartet of contrails in formation passing by high overhead, but I didn't get them until after they were directly overhead so I can't tell what they were. Something to do with the AF Birthday celebrations, perhaps?

Enjoy!

Thanks for the photos. I planned on going out there Saturday morning as I was in Covington this weekend for a wedding but ended up at Octoberfest and got into no condition to drive. The rain kept me from going today.

when you were there on Friday you and I must have crossed paths at least once. When you took the shot of The navion taxing out I was one of the warbird members doing crowd control right near where that pic was taken and in the head on shot of the B-17 I am in that pic the one with the red shirt on the right. Ther B-17 is leavng today from Lunken for Port Clinton Ohio, and I will be on it! I will take some pics of the ride
