This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

As an aside, I don't know that I would have chosen 'Palomino' as my "Mustang of a different name" name.
I would have gone for something like "Stallion" or "Bronco". Perhaps because it's a 'young Mustang' they could have gone with "Colt".

I agree Randy, Palomino does seem a bit girly but I'll bet they found that the more butch horse names for airplanes have all been trademarked by someone else by now.

I thought the late Gerry Beck's organization will continue with the new-build A models? So those will be available for buyers.

I think it's a good thing. A crusty old friend of mine said "Well they finally figured out everyone wants a Mustang." Um, yes , but a lot of us appreciate the new build work they have done and also the restoration work they have done for customers on original Me-109's , 108's and Fw-190's.
No one else has been willing to tackle building the Fw-190 series of aircraft. Thank you FLugwerk!
There are plenty of Mustangs registered in the Experimental category. There are also lots of derelict, crashed or partial airframes that are missing so much that new repro parts will be the only way the will ever fly again.
If the experimental parts go on a Limited Category P-51, it will have to be re-registered as Experimental, that's all.
