T34 Shoots down Mustang! (sort of)

Had some more fun last saturday before the Buggy flew back south.

Well I did have him in my sights for awhile! :lol:

Then we set up for some sunset shots. Always playing with the camera...

Here's the "SECRET OWNER" hiding in shame after getting flamed by a T34 :lol:

The next day heading back to a particularly large state in the south. Until next year... I'm afraid I'm going to pay for this in some way..

Just remember that a successful gun shot consists of your aircraft being stabilized:

1 - In the same plane of motion as your target

2 - In range of your guns (2,000' to 3,000' for the 20mm HEI round - not sure what gun your Mentor was sportin' there)

and

3 - Your nose in sufficient lead pursuit for the rounds to impact the maneuvering target at that range.

For illustration purposes, something like this:

Sorry, Mike, looks to me like that's a "snap" shot at best. No kill awarded.

Buggy might have had a chance if his guns hadn't jammed! :lol:

(but I'm sure he's got real gun camera footage of the battle!)

It probably has to be back here before the first week of November, because I've heard it will be on display at Randolph AFB!!! Yeehaw! I've heard it in the area a couple of times on the radio, but still haven't seen it yet.

Uh, er um... Those shots were AFTER the kill, yea.. After the kill and I was watching him go down after I did a victory roll! Yes thats the ticket! :wink:

You figther pilot types really are sensitive to this stuff. You just cant stand it when someones on your six! :lol:

Well, he did SHOOT a picture of the little pony through the FRONT windscreen.....1/2 point credit!!! :lol:

If it arrived Tuesday, I'll have to dive down into the bunker and take a look. Might be something else in the air next week come Hondo way!
