LINK TRAINER HELP

Looking to speak/email anyone with knowledge about the WWII Link trainer. We have one that is complete but needs TLC. I am hoping to borrow/buy patterns for the wings and tail as the ones that came with this one are sheet plywood. I would also like to get some good photos of the cockpit so that I can determine what instruments/controls should actually be present. This one was up and running and fully functional about 15 years ago but was allowed to deteriorate after being sold by a local airport and going to a local farmer. It was donated to the Waco Historical Society Air Museum in Troy, Ohio about 5 years ago and we have now decided to restore it. Any help from anyone would be appreciated. Just PM me if you can help.

Our machine shop guys at VFM are in the early stages of restoring a Link also. Our wood is in pretty tough shape too. I'll ask this weekend about some of the needs that both projects have. Maybe a pooling of resources would help both projects go forward.

Pima ASM has one. They may have the manuals or someone who would take some pics for you.

We've got one almost operational here at the HFM; also the Museum of Flight in Seattle has at least two. One of our volunteers has worked on both the HFM's and the MOF's Links so I'll see if I can get his contact info. for you the next time I see him...

Thanks everyone! Ours appears to be in very good shape but will take a better look at it this week when I get back to the museum. When we moved it from our storage barn it was about dusk so could not get a real good look at it. I know the bellows need replaced and the entire airplane will need to have layers of paint stripped away. The wood fuselage appears to be sound. The wings and tail are simply nothing more than 1/4-3/8" plywood. It would be great to put the fabric covered wings and tail surfaces back on. We also got boxes of some spare parts and have yet to go through those. I am told all the manuals are there as well.
