Hopefully the YouTube link isn't a repeat, but I think this is the one recovered in Greece. Any status now?

As far as I know, it's on outside display at the Hellenic Air Force Museum in Greece.

Seems a real pity not to have her indoors, and under conservation...

Richard,
Thanks for the link... Interesting info...

But I don't think it is the same plane. The video is a JU-87 and the HAF folks think the have a positive ID on a JU-88.

Same aircraft. It was displayed outdoors ( as in the photo ) for a special event - the opening of the new HAFM hangar. Since then restoration work has been started.

The photos I showed were of the Ju-87 actually.

Really glad to hear that Dave! Any photos of the restoration work out there?

Cheers,
Richard

I'll be double dipped. It is the same airplane and it did clean up rather well.
It looked for a moment like they tried to straighten the wings though! 8)

On looking at it again, I see where you're coming from... the tial piece hides the bend on the wing, so I can see why you might have initially jumped to conclusions. She did clean up well, didn't she. You should see the Ju-52 they raised! The Germans must have used some good preservatives, or there's something funny in the water there.

I haven't heard of them raising an 88 yet, but hope they manage to find one.

Cheers,
Richard
