A Forum for those interest in vintage NON-military aircraft

I'm trying to track down any existing blueprints for the Spartan C-3 biplane. It was produced in three basic models- the C-3-120, the C-3-165, and the C-3-225. The main difference between the three is the installed engine and the cowling setup. Supposedly the structure of the C-3 stayed largely the same.
I've already inquired at EAA, and no dice. Does anyone know where a set of these prints might be, or even isolated sheets from the set? Please feel free to PM me with any leads. When the C-3 received its certification from the CAA, would Spartan have had to submit any engineering or production drawings? Would NASM have them? Thanks!

My next stop would be with NASM then with Ed Wegner who owns a flying C-3

Somewhere I have the archives phone number at NASM. If I can find the number I will call or figure out how to contact via email.
I am going to D.C. at the end of the month. If there is something I can do to help out while I am actually there I would be happy to figure out a way to help.

According to AIRLINERS.NET the EAA has one on display in OSH. and, if I'm not mistaken, didn't some less than sharp individuals just open up the one in Old Rhinebeck for examination by taxiing it into a swamp full of trees? (see video posted in this part of the forum)

Dan- Thanks for the offer! I've sent NASM an inquiry about the prints. I'll let you know if I hear back.
Inspector- Thankfully, that was not the Spartan but (I think) a New Standard. The Spartan at OR hasn't flown since the mid-80's.

This is the Spartan that is at OSH. It was donated or loaned from Superflite after they grenaded the rare A series J6-7.

Randy Long in Coleman Texas restored the C-3 that was donated to the EAA. I dont think he has blueprints but it would be worth a call to find out. I help with doing the sheetmetal for the airplane. It was fun learning to wire bead an edge and assembling a seat without rivets.
