Great shot... pun intended!

But I was wondering why it was necessary to synchronize the guns with the fan turning?
Is the through the prop cannon firing and it just doesn't show up?

Spanner,
Looks to me like a P-40E. They didn't have the MG's that fired through the prop. Also, probably more a PR shot too. You would fire to insure alignment after maintenance or new build.
