Just a heads-up: One of the SU-27 Flankers at Pride Aircraft in Rockford, IL will be on public display at the Rockford Airfest 2009 this weekend. The guys are towing it over to the display area this morning (Friday, 21 Aug) at 0930.

Link: Rockford Airfest 2009. Be there!

So how do you get people to stare, point, and smile at you, as you move a 15-ton jet fighter a mile and a half across the airport, you ask?

You tow it with a Chevy Suburban:

I finally got to see the SU-27 today, and dang they are bigger than I thought. Pictures don't do them justice.

They have both been sold. They left Rockford, IL in mid-June. That's about all I can say.

We sure miss 'em, but they now have about the best life that could be expected for planes of that type.
