I got full coverage for me as PIC on the maiden flight in my RV-6 with ~10 TW hours including 3 with Van's transition trainer, and about 350 TT.

The premium was about 10% higher than I pay for the same coverage today with ~650 TW hours and ~1,000TT.

just as a data point. I'm president of a soaring club that is an SSA affiliate-we have insurance through Costello Insurance in AZ (our underwriter is AIG)
For me to allow a tow pilot to fly our tow planes under the open pilot policy-they need to have around 200 hours of tailwheel time. However, I can add them as named pilots to the policy with far less on a case by case basis. Each time I add people there is a small charge. I have added people with around 200 hours total time in power and as little as 10 hours tail wheel time. These guys were also glider pilots who we trained, I trusted and were good pilots, but it can be done.
