This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

In another post I covered the F-9F. I thought one should stand alone. Here are a few other pics. Some airplanes look to be in better condition than others. Some look to have fresh paint, while others look like they could use a wash. Overall, there is a good range of equipment there. Below is a sampling. If there is something else you would like to see a picture of let me know.

No Avenger?

Here you go Warbird Kid......
Unfortunately, I was going to start a new topic for it, but since you asked, I will just do it here. This airplane is marked as 53842. However all google searches and Baugher lead that Bu number to the USS Yorktown in South Carolina. I did find a reference that said that Intrepid at one time had a static Avenger with Bu 24803. I have nothing to confirm that though. So, does anyone know the ID on this bird? If I don't get any answers, I guess I can email the curator and see what they have for information on this bird.

It is great to see their aircraft looking so good! I'm glad they got some much needed attention. Is the A-6F still there or was that removed with the A3D and other Navy aircraft?

Tim,
I guess I have to post it anyway, but the A-6 is still there. It and the F-14 are some of the more noticeable in need of a washing! I guess a good cleaning may not be enough, but I like the fact these two are still in company colors rather than repainted in some stock military scheme.
Silverplate,
Getting pics of G-BOAD is not very easy. See the picture from the fantail of Intrepid where you can ALMOST get the full picture! Oh well, it is nice to see her back in place even though her nose cone is a SLIGHTLY different color!

That looks like a nice place to have lunch, although having to pay museum admission to get in there would make it a bit pricey.
I like the echo between the Concorde tail and the cruise ship funnel in your pic.
