We've had several good airshows in Alberta in the past few weeks. Thought I'd post them all together in one thread.

Canadian Owners and Pilots Association Convention in Springbank, AB
Mostly General aviation, but a couple neat aircraft

Do you have more photos of this one? It looks really good. I'm also interested in more details on the engine. The Buick "Nailhead" is a very old (through 1966) and heavy engine, so I'm surprised at that powerplant selection.

Great photos by the way. I really like the F-18 silhouette shot with the clouds!

It might be a Marcel Jurca MJ-10 Spitfire

Here are a couple more pics of the Spit. From what I gathered from the owner its a work in progress taken over from a friend.

Surprisingly that does look like a Nailhead. What an odd choice of engine! Must have needed some weight up front. It also looks like the distributor was moved to the (passenger car) front of the engine. Normally they are on the flywheel side. Undoubtedly that was done to keep it out of the airstream since it normally sits rather vertically. This one is clearly set at an angle.
