I'm thinking about two or three square feet, off an old airplane that's on it's way to the crusher...Where would one go (In Jackson Mississippi) to hunt something like that down really cheap (free if possible)

I've got some pieces off of a C-97 Stratofreighter here at my place if you want some of them. Just come pick 'em up, or I can cut a piece small enough to be shipped and you pay for that. Zap me an e-mail if you're interested.

Try talking to some of the folks at local FBOs that have mechanic's shops - someone's bound to know someone restoring or fixing an aircraft and you might find what you're looking for - or more! You could also find out where the nearest aircraft salvage yard is and go from there. I know there's one up in Dallas, and another in Atlanta - but I don't if there are any near you.

You should find out if there is anything like a salvage operation in Meridian, MS.

They used to have a bunch of T-28s for disposal there, and I am sure that someone near the naval facility has parts of whatever was not sold.

There was a company in Greenwood, MS, that was scrapping out airliners, that may be worth a shot. They gave us some cabin seats for our hangar in Madison.

Try talking to the guys at Jim Hankins over at Hawkins Field, They are a charter/airfreight group on the south end of the field in the old terminal. Last time I was there they were still operating several Beech 18's and had a DC-3 next to their hanger. I'm sure they have some old panels and such.

Anyone know of a place in the Seattle/Portland (Oregon) areas that deals with older aircraft skins? I too would love to get some skin sections but would want them from older airplanes.
