Greetings
I was wondering are their any Tora ( T-6 conversions) Zeros that were ever beefed up with a powerful engine ? i had heard a Rumor that their was one in the Houston Area that was suppose to be fitted with a Engine from a Connie

...............I find that very hard to believe .but I have often wondered if their was any truth to that .
As always thanks in advance to all that respond .
PS Is their a chance that Texas Raiders will be in the Tora Act at WOH this year ?

The Ex-Tora Zero I used to look after had a geared R-1340 and 3 blade hydromatic propeller out of a DHC Otter. Apart from a different canopy, faired over rear cockpit, retractable tailwheel, altered rudder and pumped up main gear struts, there were no real structural modifications to the standard T-6.

That sounds like the one that Brian Reynolds has up in Olympia.

Here's an interesting 1830 powered "Super T-6", although not related to the Tora birds.

I recall there was a T-6/Zero with an 1830 some years ago.
There have also been a few non-Zero conversions with the Wright R-1820 (including some from the NAA factory). The geared 1340 "NA-50" coversion is more common.

I believe some of the Tora T-6's had geared 1340's in them during the filming. Don't now how many or even how many were modified post-filming.

I thought all of them did or was that a post-Tora conversion?
