From the court case report provided in an earlier thread I saw no evidence that the judgement reflected a lack of legal funds, submissions or expertise from the CAF, simply a lack of evidence supporting their arguments to convince the court.

Arguing this case in the court of "internet & public opinion" achieves nothing, its better to leave it to the court of appeal.

Actually, the Twin Mustang sitting as it was delivered is a good thing. It shows the NMUSAF is holding to their word. It's my understanding that they promised not to cut the spar or otherwise touch the plane until after the court hears the appeal. It seems they are keeping her safe and dry until the final disposition. I wonder though, should the CAF win on appeal, will they have to pay to have her moved back to Midland again? Of course that worry might be moot.

Just to register my official opinion (I know, they're cheap and everyone has one...) I don't like the decals that much myself, but am sick of the bickering about it. If the CAF wants to have them, they can have them. If you don't like it, write them letters or emails, don't just keep it going here. Sure, it is a public forum and all, but I doubt they really care what 15-20 disgruntled posters here really think in the long run. If you really want something done about it, start some kind of petition or such that will give them some numbers to think about.
I enjoy WIX for information about warbirds, events, and solutions, not endless arguments that we know we'll really never resolve digitally.

I agree that we're whipping a dead horse bringing up our opposition to those stickers on WIX, and I apologize to the WIX community for bringing it up myself from time to time.

Just for the record, even being a CAF member and expressing a negative opinion of the stickers to higher headquarters isn't going to make them go away. Marketing is going to be first priority and standard operating procedure at the CAF, one of a number of reasons I'm moving on. I promise to try not to contribute to sticker threads anymore.

We don't cut the spars. That was a practice back in the day, and have not done that in like 30 years. But people will still complain that we do it. Some say Shoo SHoo Baby had it done, but that is not true. The current goal is to restore the aircraft as close to combat ready with as many systems complete and preserved. Some liberties have to be taken for preservation over operation. I thin most museums do that.
