Hi All - I am another Oshkosh veteran that has had unfortunate personal circumstances so I have had to cancel my trip in this week. So, thanks all the posters for sharing the photos and information - even if some of us can't attend in person, we can see some of the action. Thanks gentlemen!! Much appreciated :D

The P-38 is there, and can be seen in some of "SpookyTheCat's" photos on FlickR, with Ron's rebuilt P-40E next to it (the tell-tail sign being the Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing/3M scotch-tape around the gun-barrels).

Even sitting here in my office, I enjoyed watching the Lysander arrive this morning. And in case no one misses it, it is great to see this article posted on the AirVenture front page, about Taylor and his L-5: http://www.airventure.org/news/2009/090728_l5.html

Ok, that's a rare double-tap for me. Something locked up on the computer...

Thanks for all of your answers to my 'what's there' questions! I'm waiting to hear about the results of a family member's surgery before I make the trek there.

Did the new Vintage Wings P-40 arrive from Canada? It will look like the year of the P-40 with the Louisiana P-40, Fagan's P-40, Vintage Wings' P-40 and Frasca's P-40 there on the field.

And what about P-38 "Glacier Girl" which I see is on the "Warbirds in Review" schedule?

Dennis

Dennis

There was something on ASB about a mechanical issue keeping the plane from coming this year. Not surprised myself.

The Vintage Wings P-40 is here. The CAF P-40N showed up today as well, making it 5 P-40s on the field!

Matt,

I've been a volunteer at the museum since the beginning of 1998, and I've never seen it fly.

I saw it fly at Breckenridge, but I was under the impression that Ladd was the only one who flew it, and since he is no longer able to fly since his FUPAH in 99, it does not surprise me that it has not been flown.
