Ooooooo, Very Nice! Still think that bomb looks a tad too small, are they working on rectifying that?

it is not the size of the bomb that matters, it is how you use it, at least that is what I have heard from a TV show somewhere.........

Nice pics of the right side of the VAL, no tramp stamp............

Cool pics!

I've always wondered if that shade of green is authentic. Anyone know? Seems an odd color choice for a carrier aircraft.

Great pics, thanks for posting!

Japanese greens varied a bit by manufacturer, but in general I'd say the Tora birds are a little too light. Plus, the markings on the Kate are actually from a Zero.

Still, they put on a cool show! I haven't seen the Tora show since the mid '90s. Hopefully they'll make it to Thunder one of these years.

Yes, the paint scheme on Kate 310 is actually from a Zero, but Bill Powers said it was "theoretically possible" that the squadron could have had a couple of Kates and they would have had the same markings.

The bomb is under the Kate because the torpedo got messed up when the plane landed gear-up. It's hanging on the wall in the hangar, awaiting repair, then it will go back under the Kate. Right now our maintenance team has been busy with the P-39 and B-25, as well as a few privately owned aircraft. They are getting caught up now, so hopefully the work will be done on the torpedo by winter.

Yeah, but I think the pilots need to show something bigger underneath! (over compensation?) They want the torpedo back. The bomb was borrowed from Pat McClure, if memory serves.

No translation needed, a tramp stamp is understood in all languages.............

You just say that because you can't read Japanese.
It translates perfectly!

Great shots ... took some pics of them as they flew over my house on Sunday ... Unfortunately didn't have the camera ready on Saturday when the B-2 Stealth flew over ... and a lot lower than I expected.
