US Govt has announced today the cut back of F-22 and C-17 in favour for more UAV and F-35 and covert warfare programs and helicopters..

So i think there goes any chance of the F-22 becoming a warbird in any sense.

C-17 oddly gets a cut back but is a warbird.. already

These are the SecDef's "priorities," and not the final answer. Stay tuned!

wars today are fought more secular, it's like not even invading a country!! i don't see many rogue countries with the resources to pursue high tech $$uper expensive weapons when simplicity & versatility should be the philosophy of the u.s. govt,. bullets, beans, bombs!! some of this mega electronic stuff is just to much. these uav's are cheap, no loved 1's in harms way, exceedling efficient as every day passes. battles are being fought close. i'm no patton, but i follow this stuff closely, & long before my son became a u.s.m.c. recruit. my kid has been at the usmc boot camp at parris island since mid june. i want what's best for him & his comrades, as well as all branches of our military. but, bottom line some prices of the products are getting "redamned diculous"( poor slang, sorry!!) i've dumped certain boating merchandise categories at my store for the sole reason of practicality & profitability..... bang for the buck is what it's all about!!

well, the F22 certainly gives a boatload of bang for a boatload of buck. I think we're going to have to come up with a couple of layers of tech packaging. The UAV's are going to end up being the cheap as he11 throwaway's and the f22 will be our "when only your best will do" gear.
