FOR SALE PROJECT
Taylorcraft DCO-65 N58362
L-2M Grasshopper
43-26467 s/n L-5779

The airframe metal is in great shape for a 66 year old airframe.

The bolt holes at the airframe “hard points” – wing attach, engine mount, tail feather
attachment, landing gear, wing strut are not elongated or scored internally.

The bearing surfaces of the axles are smooth and not scored.

There are some tubes that need repair but they are simple repairs. Some already replaced.

This aircraft has NO:
Engine, prop, nose bowl, cowling, wing struts (lift or jury), windshields, cabin aileron push pull tube, pulley & bracket assembly. Spoilers and spoiler controls.

The aircraft HAS: engine mount, boot cowl, cabin door, floor panels, flight controls (tail feathers), fuel tanks (wing & fuselage), instrument panel with instruments (serviceable-?), tail wheel, main landing gear, throttle mount plate/lever, fuel tank control, parking brake control, trim tab controls, front & rear seat.

Both wings/ailerons - one is fully assembled and the other had a few ribs removed by the previous owner. The front spar butt fitting is missing and so is the #1 rib on the slightly disassembled wing. The tail feathers including trim tab are there and are in great shape. The a/c is a L-2M but the wings were replaced with L-2A/B wings and the spoiler controls were removed years ago. The L-2 metal airframe parts came be manufactured legally and are quite simple.

FAA paperwork: FAA Registered N58362

Data plate traceable to the serial number on the airframe throttle lever.

Clear title/bill of sale from the original surplus date to the present.

Logbook and FAA paperwork (maintenance, registration) in order.

Numerous Taylorcraft drawings on a disc. Maintenance manuals included.

Can be made flyable or makes a good collectible.

Can send pictures if serious. Interested people only please. Thanks.
