Nice, but what aircraft is it and what's the story behind the video?

It's the former Walt Newton AD-1 Skyraider. The ONLY AD-1 in existence. Recently repainted in camoflage and lookin' great!

Then that is even cooler than I expected!
Thanks Gary!
Any closer video or photos of the new paint job?

Can you believe that at this moment both of the surviving protoypes are sitting outside rotting in the weather ? One is owned by the U.S. Navy and the other by Mr. Soplata.

Well, at least Walter put his money where his mouth is other wise we would only have one of the prototypes left. :supz:
Some have migrated from Ohio to flight status, so it'll be placed in the right hands someday.

There was an earlier WIX thread showing pictures, but I cannot find it. I want to say that Sabremech posted them.

Here ya' go, Jerry......

Exterior shots...

Interior shots (which I'm proud to say that was primarily my work when we were getting it flying years ago...colors to customer's specs).......

A neat ol' airplane for sure. Quite a bit different, system-wise, than any other model of Skyraider.

The 6T tail code is a bit rare - would still love to know how it was chosen for the paint scheme on the AD-1 - I've got a friend who was a real-life 6T/ET 6th SOS pilot.
