I Tried to talk or introduce myself but you guys were not intereted? :shock:

Really?! Seriously? Awfully sorry if that's what ended up happening. Never been one to shun an aviation enthusiast. Ended up meeting a whole cavalcade of crazy folk that day! :wink: Most of them are called WIXers, but some not.

Apologies if you felt "put off". Its never a good feeling to receive.

Chris;
Looks like you were having a nice conversation with "Warbird Driver".
Long time buddy of mine. I hope you didn't mention my name to him! :lol:

Yes Jerry he did. Despite that, we let him hang around.

You should have been there. A bit wet on Saturday afternoon, but cleared up nicely and a bunch of the birds flew. Sunday the weather was perfect.

Glenn

PS ask the Kid what he did Sunday morning.

Well, its back to reality and work. Had a blast on the weekend. It was great meeting you Chris and sharing the day with you watching the warbirds. One quick shot for now of the TBM from Friday evening. Naomi Wadsworth in the back seat with my wife Bernadette in the turret and our very own Scott Rose in the belly of the beast. More to come.

Jason Somes flew the F6F from Camarillo. He is an amazing survivor of the Reno Formula 1 mid-air that was fatal to the other pilot at Reno 2007. He was also very close to the late Erica Simpson, who lost her life at Reno last year, and to the late Paul Lopez who went west this past spring in FL. Unique guy, a lot of fun. He has a hobby shop at Van Nuys airport too, among his "business interests".

He's taking it to Milwaukee where Ray Diekman will fly a Legacy flight there the week before Oshkosh, then it will go to Oshkosh for static.

He did not enjoy the rain...and didn't want to make his third grass landing on wet and soggy grass today, so no flight.

well, not a bad shot, but Eric, you really want to get the sun on the aircraft. :lol:

Seriously, gorgeous shot, and great seeing all the WIX'ers, even the one weeny who shall be nameless (whose initials are the same as mine) who took off before the beautiful Sunday weather...

I'll post some Canso A2A photos later, back to work for me too.

Off to sunny-ole-England Thurs for RIAT. Hey, I can hope, can't I?

Rich

I was never formally introduced to Glenn, but he did educate me as to why he doesn't need to pull the TBM prop through before start. Guess we lowly Harvard guys just have stronger backs... :)
