Hello all,
There's been a few casual mentions of it, but I wanted to make it official and mention it here on WIX.
The B-25H Mitchell "Barbie III" has been sold as of June 1st and will be heading East after it's time in Denver this summer. The organization that purchased the aircraft is History Flight, Inc. of Marathon, FL and will be added to their current aircraft ride program with their two AT-6 Texans and N2S Stearman. They are a 501c3 Non-Profit foundation and use the aircraft rides as fundraisers for their MIA and WWII battle grave research and expedition program in the Pacific.

The plan is for the B-25 to remain in Denver until August 15th, then it will fly to Shirley, NY (on Long Island) and will be doing rides there through September 11th. It will then move to Gaithersburg, MD in the Washington DC area offering rides for a week and will then move South to end up in Marathon for the Winter. The group is planning to tour it in Florida in 2010 and is also planning another NY trip as well as some other locations in planning.
The Warbirds Unlimited Foundation is operating the aircraft on behalf of the owner, History Flight until August 15th when it departs Colorado.
To clarify any speculation, the B-25H was formerly owned by the Weary Warriors, a syndicate of owners in the Chicago area. It was operated under a lease by the Warbirds Unlimited Foundation in Mesa, AZ under an exemption letter. It was the owners and not Warbirds Unlimited that made the move to sell the aircraft and Warbirds Unlimited still exists and will carry on with a PT-17 Stearman and J-3 Cub that will fly later this year -- and potential heavier iron in 2010.
So, for those of you on the East Coast and in Florida, you'll be seeing a rare B-25 coming to your side of the world soon! History Flight is a client of mine now, so I'll be adding new information as it becomes available. Their new website is my work too... so please let me know what you think.
