Now for the real stuff after the Nerf trial.

Looking through the spar cutout toward the leading edge. The fwd gun mount for the M2 50 cal is the silver U shape in the lower fore ground.

Image

This is the rear mount for the receiver.

Image

The barrel exits through a spring loaded cover. These 6 were held in place by the short fake barrels. I transferred them to the original spings and retainers shown here.

Image

This is what they look installed with out any barrels protruding.

Image
Inboard weapon in place. This one is set back with an extension on the end of the barrel that is original.

Center and outboard followed.

With feed chutes.

Nothing can fire from these as they are demills made to look whole but gutted on the inside.
They sure look like something Obama would get upset about.

Now THAT is cool that there will still be a Frenesi AND The Enchantress. 8)

Your mission, don't ask- just do, is to prevent any interest in the acquisition any anything besides fish and chips. Maybe some warm beer.
Remember, What happens overseas stays overseas.
Besides I have access to Nerf guns. I'll fight them off.

Where would the gun camera have been mounted? I assume not all Mustangs had them.

All Mustangs had them, they were mounted in the leading edge of the left wing root.

The Horseman has left the building.

You can have your pilot back now.

We all kept carefull score on his demo each day.

We also nearly broke your record of grounding a Mustang within 2 minutes of shutdown.

Regards

Fred

The key word is nearly.

We are now evaluating a Nerf Bomb to install under Winnipeg as we now have the shackles installed. Fiqure an inner bladder filled with helium in a foam shell in the shape of a 500 lb casing. That way it will be politically correct.

It was a great time as always and good to see all the folks at TFC. Even Fred.

I took this taxiing onto the runway. That flugwerk 190 is really cool.

Image

And yes Fred and the gang did score us. I was so surprised Fred could spell I had to take this pic taxiing back

Jim Beasley with ‘Friend’ ...who says P-51 pilots don’t have a sense of humour? ;)
Image

Thanks Jim... it was great watching you fly and it was fantastic getting a close up look at Miss Velma and listening to you and Ed talk. In case anyone is wondering, the lamb is a running joke from work and the rule is anyone that travels takes the lamb. That lamb has been more place than you would believe and now he has hung out with a P-51 pilot :) 8) Thanks for being such a good sport Jim, I hope you realize what a thrill it was to talk to you and get such a great look at Miss Velma.

Well the nice ladies in the skimpy outfits decided they needed more Jim and Rich. Other than being old fat married and smelling like beer I think I've got a shot. Rich ran away before they could grab him.
