Wow that's great! I'm drooling from that video irrespective of his age. How fun does that look!!!

Congratulations to the new pilot!

Are they as close as they look, especially the T-28 and the P-51 or is that an illusion?

The clothing was put together about a week before the flight and I didn't have enough time to get everything right. Everyone has commented on my shoes but I tell them I would rather look bad than risk ground looping a mustang because of boots. I usually fly bare foot, except in warbirds. Dad was in the front of the T-28 and grandpa in the back. lead was Scott Slocums Bonanza at a whopping 150kts. After the solo I took my mom up for the first time with me in the mustang, she enjoyed it. Special thanks to my friend Jason Griffin who introduced me into warbirds in our T-6.

See ya, fly safe

Fantastic Conrad! It's great that you took the time to reply here. Welcome to our forum! I hope you participate here in our threads. It's nice to see some "other" perspective here, especially from a young person! :D

Congratulations Conrad on your achievement.

Only one comment about the video - It's just too funny to see all of those pretty airplanes and then.... Carl Best.... :)

Very cool!!

Congrats!

I wish there were more situations that allowed younger pilots to fly iron like this -- that would bode well for the future of warbird culture.

We could never get him to wear shoes except for school. He's probably got the toughest feet in the world. :D

In some of the ETO replacement pools towards the last half of 1944, at 21 he would have been one of the older fellas ...
