Jack,

That's an interesting drop tank hanging from Bob McHale's P-40 in the first picture.I don't recall ever seeing one quite like it.Also,do you have any idea what the object is just above the head rest?It looks a bit like a VHF antenna, but it appears to be inside the canopy.

I particularly liked the one titled "Nick Nichols P-40K being refueled", said the old used-to-be-a-POL guy. :)

Jack, first thanks a bunch. That is so kind of you.Where did you find the picture if Nichols K model about to flair?Fantastic!I noticed a smiley face on the front of the drop tank as well.Thats the first I have seen that another aircraft had Nick Nichols Nip Nippers on the side cowl.Great 49th pics.Thank you again Jack.Hope all enjoyed them as much as I did.

The drop tank is the type carried on P-40 Cs with rivets all over it.The aerial stumps me.I wonder if its not part of the control column lock which is similar to bungy cords or straps.Could be all wet.

The editor of AOPA magazine came out and flew with us a few years back and did a story called Barnstorming With A Bomber.
I begged him not to publish a photo of me snoozing in his rag. Their photog Mike Fizer got some really awesome photos that weekend!

I got to fly in the CF B-25 when it was Hoosier Honey, and it was a thrill. Had to be cool to get to tour with one.
