American Airpower Museum could lose its home.....

I find it hard to believe that we locals could allow this to happen, especially considering the turnout they had for Memorial Day weekend:

......they need to extend the runway for safety reasons???? They had F-105s taking off out of there, and C-5s carrying the A-10 down south for final assembly

This is really stupid.

Not good.
They spent many years looking for the right home and they found it at Republic. Now they want'em out?

I'm about at wits end with the friggin' bureaucrats in this country. Image

So, exactly how many accidents and/or overruns have occurred at the airport to legitimize the need for a longer apron? ...or could it just be more governmental movers & shakers making more corporate busy work for their high-powered campaign financiers? Looks like the ol' Republic facility is now just another speed bump on the opportunists' path to power and wealth.[/img]

What?
That makes no sense to me.
Their hangar is in the middle of a large row of hangars, and the end of the runway is past their building. Are they planning on moving the FBO's too?

This stinks. Seems to be a movement to do a way with war bird museum.

Time to get the hanger designated as a Historical Landmark! That is crazy!

Geez, you think the bureaucrats work fo us? That's crazy talk. Us tax payers are only here to support the self importantance of bureaucrats and to keep them from actually working fo a living.

If the hangar was to be placed on the National Rigister of Historic Place, that would be a good start.
