Just received my June 2009 issue of EAA's Warbirds magazine, and there it is, the history of "Old Seventy - Requiem for a Bomber" by Mr. Steve Dennis, of WIX fame.

Good article, interesting story.

Congratulations, amigo!

Saludos,

Tulio

Hello Tulio,

Thanks for the kind words. Although I have been a member of the EAA Warbirds organization for many years (25 or so), I can not claim any fame for writing this article or any other articles for their magazine.

Either there is another warbird fanatic out there in the world with the same name, or the EAA folks made an error, I am not sure. It's too bad if the author's name is not Steve Dennis, because he certainly deserves the recognition. I have not taken the time to read it yet, but it looks like a very detailed article. Hopefully if there has been a mistake, the author will contact the magazine and they will make a correction in one of the next issues so he can get the credit he deserves.

Thanks for thinking of me though.

The "other" Steve Dennis 8)

And here I thought I was one of a kind....

OK, how many of these:  would I need now?

It would have made things easier if I had first asked you, if you were the author, but given the late night hour of my posting, I did not.

SO, here it goes:

To the real author of the article, Congrats, the article is really interesting and thoroughly researched,

Even though you are not the author, Steve, it was still nice thinking it was you.

Saludos,

Tulio

Gawrsh, Steven, ya eegatisitkel so-an-so...her clearly said 'Steve Dennis' not 'Steven M. Dennis'...we here at WIX would NEVER fail to recognize your middle initial, so obviously it wasn't you.

Cuz there's no way we'd make a mistake on this here interweb thingie.

Is that an OFFICIAL denial?

I mean we know about 'officially denied'. Means it's true, Right? My friend at the bar said that HE knows that Steven did write the article, but 'they' hushed it up, right? Now Steve's denying it was him, which just proves it, right?

Uhhhmm.....I think so. Wait a minute, I mean NO, errr, now I'm all confused. Yes, it means no. There! (I think).

Now can we please get back to warbirds????

Doesn't someone want to bash the Air Force Museum or the CAF or TSA on this thread or something to make it interesting?
