They went into service, but were cancelled when the first models couldn't be kept on course.

The constantly deviated.

I have a French infantry rifle for sale, never been fired, and only dropped once!

They even got their hands on the Storch... aka the Criquet.

Honestly, I enjoy some aspects of French history  - and for some things we owe them a great deal - but IMHO very little after their revolution back in the 1700s. I think they lost the best of their society at that point, and before with the persecutions. Of course those of us of English descent have to be careful about anti-French statements - for if you are like me, you may have a wee bit o' Norman blood in ye!

Ah so the Criquet. make an ugly plane uglier, and they can't spell either.

As someone with strong contacts with the neighbours, I'm no automatic fan of the French, but they're fine by me, and there's a lot I've enjoyed and appreciate about France. (Let's just say I'd be hard pushed to favour N American 'cheese' over the French (or British) stuff. Calling it 'Jack' is fair warning, IMHO.) Asinine martial jokes can be told about any country - including everyone own, so let's not.

Regards,

Oh, gee--cutie indeed. Want!

There was a husband-and-wife aerobatic team, the "French Connection," who flew a pair of very appealing French planes, that for the life of me I can't remember the name of now, even though I can see them in my mind plain as day. They were beautiful. I want one of them too. If I can ever remember what they were. I guess I will have to go Google.

One thing about the French, they can make some beautiful airplanes. All the way from Nieuports to Mirages, they always seem to consider the lines of the thing. as being equal in importance to the performance, if not more so.

I saw them at a Wings Over Houston, back in the day.

One of the names was something like Mallet Montaigne and his name.... I can't remember it, for the life of me.

Saludos,

Tulio
