Anyone know what model is 16203? Looks to be an SRE, if I had to guess.

Thanks. Man, those Waco cabin biplanes. Fell in love with them as a kid, first at Rockford and later at Oshkosh.

I did see your pics!!! I almost commented on the pic of your dog blocking the view of a N3N but then I thought that he is obviously a fan of the N3N and wanted his pic with one!! I cant blame him, I hope he "blessed" a few stearman tires for me when he was there
For Albert, he is just hiding the N3N. There is one on the field but yet no pics. Maybe they kept it inside, did not want to make it a "fancy affair".
Ok that being said.............love the float!!!! looked like a hell of a good time.. That waco that only matters..............That thing is neat???? whats it got FWF?

The Great Lakes is a replica, and was previously based out here at Schellville Airport and owned by Bill Ewertz. He still has his other authentic 1929 2T-1A in blue and white.

I think the D model Waco has a 450 HP R-985 but I guess I need to confirm that. The N3N that called Creve Coeur home for so many years is gone

but it's in good hands. Still, we always enjoyed having it on the field. It was one of the more original N3Ns I've ever seen. The 50th anniversary get together in Ohio for the National Waco Club should be a big one, I'd guess 60+ and if the weather holds, maybe 80+? If we managed 35 on the field at the same time, they should be able to at least double that number. I wish I could go, a few guys from Creve Coeur are headed that way but it's work, work, work, around here.
The Liberty Belle is over at Spirit of St. Louis a/p, arrived on Monday and should be here through the weekend so at least I'll get to see it up close for the first time. I'd rather be at the Waco party in Ohio but oh well......

Hey Al, if you need someone to help stand guard over the hangar 'til he gives up, give me a call Laughing
Great to meet up with you Tulio - give a shout next time you're in town and you're free - we'll get something to eat and check out some aircraft somewhere. Maybe we can talk Al into flying his Stearman so we can take pics!
A pleasure to finally meet up with Don Parsons - a real gentleman who made my 5 year old son Jack really comfortable to be around him.
Here's the S3HD - what a beauty!
Enjoy the Day! Mark

It was good seeing you too, Mark.
I also had the pleasure of talking with Don Parsons for a little while, but when the Mustang came taxiing, I left the table and went to shoot pictures, and I did not see Don again.
It was also nice meeting my good friend Capt. Al Rivera, who resides in nearby St. Charles.
All in all, a great -albeit very hot- day!
Yup, if Al flies and he lets us, I will make the time to go and take pictures!
Saludos,
Tulio

Ok, so wait a minute. Both Tulio and Mark were at Creve Coeur and I missed both of you? Huh? How did that happen. I'm pretty sure Mark is a real person but I'm not so sure about Tulio. I think he might be some sort of latin american phantom. My sister has become good friends with Mil Mascaras so I think I'm going to hire him to kidnap you so I can see that you really exist.

Hey Al -
I can vouch that by the time I saw Tulio in mid afternoon, all of the face paint had sweated off!
Alright Tulio, seems we need to make sure we call Al and come on and see if his Stearman is really flyable

Seems a fair trade to prove you exist!
Enjoy the Day! Mark

Time to come clean....
Mark is the masked guy on the first shot, while I am the one in the second...

Great pix Mark and Tulio. I recognize many of the Wacos from the 50th. The shots of the D taxiing and lifting off are sharp. That airplane has a comanding presence on the ramp and that R-985 is noticably louder than the other Wacos.
I like that taxiing-away shot of Dave and Jeanne Allen's blue ASO since that was the first Waco I got to fly in. BTW, OPEN COCKPITS ROCK!
Tulio, I gave the Canon XSi a good workout at MV and was really pleased with what I got. Although it was a new experiece having over 400 photos in the camera to organize, print and scrapbook. I hung out with Don Parsons a lot and he gave me some coaching on its use that weekend.
Mark N., pretty cool that young Jack is helping you now and enjoying vintage av. I see he likes to do self portraits too. I like to do mine in shiny prop spinners.
